LISI in London: Insights from our workshop at the GAIL Annual Summit
This spring LISI co-creators hosted a workshop covering investment governance structures at the GAIL (Global Alliance of Impact Lawyers) Annual Summit in London, England. Feedback was positive and we managed to spread the word about ongoing LISI projects. We also had a blast.
Standing Neutrals: A new old approach to building relationships and avoiding disputes
Standing neutrals are a neutral, trusted, and independent party selected by parties at the outset of a contractual relationship with the remit of assisting the parties to resolve any issues or disputes which may arise. Although not especially common in any jurisdiction (but most used in the Nordics and in the USA), using standing neutrals to facilitate good commercial relationships between counterparties may be of interest where a long-lasting relationship is planned and keeping good relationships will be key to achieving a joint mission.

Sustaining strong ESG and sustainability risk and impact management in the context of exit: Considerations for investors and portfolio companies
When seeking to sustain momentum on robust sustainability risk or impact management, there isn’t a single approach to achieving an exit from an investment that (i) does not undermine the sustainability and/or impact efforts made during an investment holding period and, (ii) instead actually aims to leave a company with the greatest chance of ensuring the sustainability trajectory can continue.
